A RESOLUTION
In memory of Private First Class Gustavo A. Rios-Ordonez.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio extend our condolences to the family and friends of Private First Class Gustavo A. Rios-Ordonez in their bereavement; and

       WHEREAS,  Gustavo Rios-Ordonez was a truly unforgettable man whose words and actions endeared him to everyone who knew him. A remarkable person who experienced joy, understood kindness and loyalty, and knew how to communicate his beliefs and share his strengths, he confronted challenges and faced adversity with an admirable spirit, and the legacy of care and commitment he established will surely live on; and

       WHEREAS,  A native of Colombia, Gustavo Rios-Ordonez was a member of the United States Army assigned to the 4th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, and he was serving in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom when he was killed in the line of duty. Indeed, he was devoted to our country, and the ultimate sacrifice that he made to defend the ideals of democracy will stand as a monument to his personal character; and

       WHEREAS,  Gustavo Rios-Ordonez's selfless dedication to the welfare of others distinguished him as an outstanding human being and a leading citizen. It is our sincere hope that his memory will be a source of comfort to those who loved and cherished him, including his wife, Tiffani, and his two daughters, Isabella and Elizabeth; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, mourn the loss and salute the memory of a truly unique individual, Private First Class Gustavo A. Rios-Ordonez; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Private First Class Gustavo A. Rios-Ordonez.
