WHEREAS,  Ohio has one of the most robust, comprehensive, and 6
successful career and technical education systems in the United 7
States of America. In fact, there are forty-nine joint vocational 8
career centers, forty-two comprehensive/compact, and forty-eight 9
community schools in Ohio that offer career-focused programs. Ohio 10

career and vocational facilities have with local businesses and 12
industries; and13

WHEREAS,  In Ohio, students of all ages, high school and 14
adult, have the opportunity to pursue their educational and career 15

vocational-career training is an option that students chose in 18
order to reach their career goals in a time efficient manner; and19

enrolled in vocational-technical programs. Students who graduate 21
from vocational-technical schools have advanced training, 22
on-the-job experiences, and technical proficiency in their chosen 23
professions, enabling them to continue their education or start 24
rewarding careers upon graduation. In 2009, ninety-five percent of 25
students who were enrolled in a career-technical school graduated 26

post-secondary education; therefore be it28
