A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

To delegate to the President of the Senate and the

Speaker of the House of Representatives authority

to designate groups of members to prepare

arguments for and against amendments to the Ohio

4

Constitution proposed by the General Assembly.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF OHIO
(THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING):

WHEREAS, When the General Assembly adopts a joint resolution	6
proposing an amendment to the Ohio Constitution under Ohio	7
Constitution, Article XVI, Section 1, it may designate, under	8
section 3505.063 of the Revised Code, a group of members who voted	9
in support of the joint resolution to prepare arguments for the	10
proposed amendment and, unless no members voted in opposition, a	11
group of members who voted in opposition to the joint resolution	12
to prepare arguments against the proposed amendment; now therefore	13
be it	14

RESOLVED, That, when the 128th General Assembly adopts a	15
joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Ohio Constitution,	16
the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of	17
Representatives, on behalf of the 128th General Assembly, may	18
designate a group of members who voted in support of the joint	19
resolution to prepare arguments for the proposed amendment and,	20
unless no members voted in opposition, a group of members who	21
voted in opposition to the joint resolution to prepare arguments	22
against the proposed amendment; and be it further	23

RESOLVED, That, when the 128th General Assembly adopts a	24
joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Ohio Constitution,	25
the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of	26
Representatives may make their designations so as to leave the	27
designated group or groups of members with sufficient time to	28
prepare and file their arguments with the Secretary of State not	29
later than the eightieth day before the day of the election at	30
which the proposed amendment will be submitted to the electors.	31
