A RESOLUTION

Honoring Larry A. Davis on his retirement as president of the Ohio Trucking Association.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Larry A. Davis on the occasion of his retirement as president of the Ohio Trucking Association, January 10, 2014; and

       WHEREAS,  Throughout his distinguished career, Larry Davis has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing his duties and fulfilling his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence. An officer retired from the Ohio State Highway Patrol after twenty-seven years of service, he was named director of government affairs for the Ohio Trucking Association in 1991, becoming its president thirteen years ago, and during his tenure, he has helped to guarantee a high level of success for all projects with which he has been associated, including the Share the Road and America's Road Team events; and 

       WHEREAS,  Larry Davis is, indeed, a remarkable individual, combining civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the State of Ohio. Always sincere and energetic in his approach to his work, he has given generously of his time and abilities far beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life in our society; and

       WHEREAS,  The enthusiasm and expertise that Larry Davis has shown in his endeavors have earned him the respect of all those with whom he has worked. As he retires, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has provided a valuable service to the community and has established a record of personal and professional achievement that will stand as a hallmark for others to emulate; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Larry A. Davis on his retirement and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Larry A. Davis.
