| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud the City of Westerville Parks and Recreation Department on receiving the 2013 Gold Medal Award in the 25,001-50,000 population category from the National Recreation and Park Association; and |
| WHEREAS, The National Recreation and Park Association's Gold Medal awards honor communities that demonstrate excellence in agency recognition, resource management, and long-range planning, and clearly, the City of Westerville Parks and Recreation Department is worthy of acknowledgement. At a time when too few people are concerned with the benefits our land has to offer, it is gratifying to pay tribute to organizations that have made significant and lasting contributions to the preservation of our environment; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, the City of Westerville Parks and Recreation Department has provided area citizens with places to relax and enjoy a variety of activities in natural and peaceful settings. All those involved with the division are deserving of high praise for their endeavors to serve their community to the best of their ability; and |
| WHEREAS, The staff and volunteers of the City of Westerville Parks and Recreation Department have displayed commendable civic concern and insight through their efforts to make our world a better place in which to live. Indeed, their noteworthy achievements show the potential of a small group of individuals to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the City of Westerville Parks and Recreation Department on being presented with a 2013 NRPA Gold Medal Award and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the City of Westerville Parks and Recreation Department. |
