A RESOLUTION

Honoring Karrington Winters as a 2013 Division I State Track and Field Champion.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Karrington Winters on winning the 2013 Division I State Championship in the 400-meter dash; and

       WHEREAS,  A sophomore at New Albany High School, Karrington Winters has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in running, and as a result, she won this year's Division I State Championship in the 400-meter event with a time of 53.59; and 

       WHEREAS,  Karrington Winters' accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Karrington Winters on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in track and field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Karrington Winters on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Karrington Winters.
