WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Larry L. Long on the memorable occasion of his retirement as executive director of the County Commissioners' Association of Ohio; and |
WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career, Larry Long has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing his duties and fulfilling his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence. Previously serving in various capacities with the U.S. Department of Defense Intelligence Agency, the Ottawa County Regional Planning Commission, and the Ohio Department of Economic and Community Development, he joined the staff of the County Commissioners' Association of Ohio as a management specialist in 1974, and he advanced as the assistant director and chief lobbyist before being appointed executive director in 1986. In addition, he is the editor of the County Commissioners Handbook, president of the CCAO Service Corporation, and assistant treasurer of the organization's County Risk Sharing Authority and County Employee Benefits Consortium of Ohio; and |
WHEREAS, Larry Long is, indeed, a remarkable individual, combining civic concern with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the State of Ohio. Always sincere and energetic in his approach to his work, he has given generously of his time and abilities far beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life in our society; and |
WHEREAS, The enthusiasm and expertise Larry Long has shown in his endeavors have earned him the respect of all those with whom he has been associated. As he retires, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has provided a valuable service to the community and has established a record of personal and professional achievement that will stand as a hallmark for others to emulate; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Larry L. Long on his retirement and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Larry L. Long. |
