A RESOLUTION

Honoring Marie Case as the 2013 Mid-American Conference all-around gymnastics champion.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Marie Case on winning the all-around event at the 2013 Mid-American Conference gymnastics meet; and

       WHEREAS,  A junior at Kent State University, Marie Case has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in gymnastics, and as a result, she scored 9.775 on the vault, 9.775 on the uneven bars, 9.800 on the beam, and 9.900 on the floor exercise to win the all-around event with a score of 39.250 at this year's Mid-American Conference meet; and 

       WHEREAS,  Marie Case's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on her but also on her family, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her All-MAC first-team and Co-MAC Gymnast of the Year honors, and she is certainly deserving of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Marie Case. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in gymnastics will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Marie Case on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Marie Case.
