A RESOLUTION

Honoring Micaela Powers as the 2012 Ohio Division I Player of the Year in girls soccer.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Micaela Powers on receiving the 2012 Ohio Division I Player of the Year Award from the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association; and

       WHEREAS,  Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and dedication during the 2012 season, Micaela Powers has certainly distinguished herself as one of the most talented soccer players in the State of Ohio. A student at Beavercreek High School, she compiled twenty goals and nine assists and was named to the Greater Western Ohio Conference first team, the Miami Valley Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association All-Area Division I first team as its Player of the Year, and the All-Ohio Division I first team; and 

       WHEREAS,  Throughout intense training and preparation, Micaela Powers has consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion. She has inspired her teammates, thrilled her fans, gained the respect of her opponents, and made her coaches and family very proud; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Micaela Powers on an exemplary season. Through her outstanding efforts, she has inspired countless individuals to excel in various areas of endeavor; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor Micaela Powers as the 2012 Ohio Division I Player of the Year and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Micaela Powers.
