A JOINT RESOLUTION

Authorizing a joint session of the Ohio General

Assembly to meet at the Wells Academy in

2

Steubenville, Ohio, for the purpose of receiving a

3

message from the Governor and calling for a

4

committee to wait upon the Governor in

5

anticipation of his State of the State Address.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

WHEREAS,  The members of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio,	7
by adoption of this resolution, call for a joint session of the	8
legislature, to be held at the Wells Academy at 420 North Fourth	9
Street, Steubenville, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 1:00	10
o'clock p.m.; and	11

WHEREAS, The Ohio General Assembly annually convenes a joint	12
session of the House and Senate for the purpose of receiving a	13
message from the Governor as to the State of the State; and	14

WHEREAS,  The members of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio,	15
by adoption of the resolution, call for a committee of nine on the	16
part of the House of Representatives and eight on the part of the	17
Senate to be appointed to wait upon the Governor in anticipation	18
of his State of the State Address, February 7, 2012, at 1:00	19
o'clock p.m.; and	20

WHEREAS, It is a tradition of courtesy for the Ohio General	21
Assembly to appoint a committee to wait upon the Governor;	22
therefore be it	23

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 129th General Assembly	24
of Ohio, in adopting this resolution, authorize a joint session of	25
the legislature to be held at the Wells Academy at 420 North	26
Fourth Street, Steubenville, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 1:00	27
o'clock p.m., for the purpose of welcoming the Governor, the	28
Honorable John Kasich, and receiving his message on the State of	29
the State; and be it further	30

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 129th General Assembly	31
of Ohio, in adopting this resolution, call for a committee of nine	32
on the part of the House of Representatives and eight on the part	33
of the Senate to be appointed to wait upon the Governor; and be it	34
further	35

RESOLVED, That the rules and customs of the House shall be	36
observed during the joint session; and be it further	37

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives	38
transmit duly authenticated copies of this resolution to Governor	39
John Kasich and to the news media of Ohio.	40
