SYNOPSIS
Memorializes Congress and President to enact H.R. 3069 mandating a comprehensive study of health outcomes related to vaccinations.

A Senate Resolution memorializing Congress and the President of the United States to enact H.R. 3069 mandating a comprehensive study comparing health outcomes in vaccinated and unvaccinated populations in the United States.
Whereas, This nation's vaccine program has significantly reduced human suffering by preventing and reducing the outbreak of vaccine-preventable diseases; and
Whereas, While childhood immunizations are an important tool in securing the health of the nation's children, the number of immunizations administered to children, teenagers and adults has grown dramatically over recent years; and
Whereas, The incidence of chronic, unexplained neurological disorders also appears to have increased dramatically over recent years; and
Whereas, Childhood immunizations are the only health interventions required by states of all citizens in order to participate in civic society; and
Whereas, Although individual vaccines are tested for safety, the interactive effects of multiple vaccines has not been as rigorously tested; and
Whereas, Congresswoman Maloney introduced H.R. 3069, the "Comprehensive Comparative Study of Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Populations Act of 2009," which directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct or support a comprehensive study comparing total health outcomes in vaccinated and unvaccinated populations in the United States; and
Whereas, It is in the best interest of this State to support H.R. 3069 in order to maintain public confidence in the management of public health through rigorous testing of mass vaccination programs to ensure that they produce superior health outcomes; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of New Jersey:
1. This House respectfully memorializes the United States Congress and the President of the United States to enact H.R. 3069, pending in the 111th Congress, which provides for a comprehensive study comparing total health outcomes, including risk of autism, in vaccinated populations in the United States with such outcomes in unvaccinated populations in the United States.
2. Duly authenticated copies of this resolution, signed by the President of the Senate and attested by the Secretary thereof, shall be transmitted to the President and Vice President of the United States, the Speaker and Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives, the Majority and Minority Leaders of the United States Senate, and to every member of Congress elected from this State.
STATEMENT
This bill respectfully memorializes Congress and the President of the United States to enact H.R. 3069, the "Comprehensive Comparative Study of Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Populations Act of 2009," which directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct or support a comprehensive study comparing total health outcomes in vaccinated and unvaccinated populations in the United States.
