SYNOPSIS

     Allows use of Green Acres funds to fully fund certain projects on State-owned land by certain nonprofit organizations.

An Act concerning development, capital repair, or improvement by certain nonprofit organizations of property on State-owned land and supplementing P.L.1999, c.152 (C.13:8C-1 et seq.).

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    Notwithstanding the provisions of section 27 of P.L.1999, c.152 (C.13:8C-27) or any other law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, the department 1[shall not] may, at its discretion,1 require a qualifying tax exempt nonprofit organization to provide matching funds for the development, capital repair, or improvement of property on State-owned land in order to receive funding from the "Preserve New Jersey Green Acres Fund" established pursuant to section 6 of P.L.2016, c.12 (C.13:8C-48), or any other similar State fund1, or may award a grant that covers up to 100 percent of the cost of the project1.  A project carried out by a qualifying tax exempt nonprofit organization for the development, capital repair, or improvement of property on State-owned land may be fully funded by a grant from the "Preserve New Jersey Green Acres Fund" or any other similar State fund.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.
