STATEMENT

This bill provides a supplemental appropriation of $10 million from the General Fund to the Legislature for the State Capitol Complex Park overseen by the State Capitol Joint Management Commission.  Skirmishes at Trenton were pivotal during the War for American Independence and the city remains home to State government operations and many New Jersey residents.  New Jersey should develop and enhance greenspace around the Capitol Complex to celebrate Trenton's history and create a vibrant area for the intersection of government and city life.

The FY 2024 Appropriations Act already includes $3 million for the State Capitol Complex Park.
