A Supplement to "An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016 and regulating the disbursement thereof," approved June 26, 2015 (P.L.2015, c.63).

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.2015, c.63, there is appropriated out of the General Fund the following sum for the purpose specified:

 

10 DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

40 Community Development and Environmental Management

49 Agricultural Resources, Planning, and Regulation

DIRECT STATE SERVICES

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill makes a supplemental appropriation of $1.6 million from the General Fund to the Department of Agriculture to increase funding for the Jersey Fresh program.

     The Jersey Fresh program is an advertising, promotional, and quality grading program launched in 1984 to help farmers inform consumers about the availability and variety of fruits and vegetables grown in New Jersey, and later expanded to include seafood, landscape plants, and other agricultural products.
