SYNOPSIS
Requires civil service commission to notify a certified eligible by certified mail and via electronic mail.

An Act concerning civil service certification and amending N.J.S.11A:4-4.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. N.J.S.11A:4-4 is amended to read as follows:
11A:4-4. Eligible lists and certifications. 1. The commission shall provide for:
a. The establishment and cancellation of eligible lists;
b. The certification of an eligible list to positions in other appropriate titles; and
c. The consolidation of eligible lists which may include, but is not limited to, the combining of names of eligibles by scores.
2. Upon the issuance of a certification, the commission shall notify, or authorize the notification of, each certified eligible whose name appears on the eligible list by 1certified1 mail and via electronic mail at the last known address. "Last known address" means the postal address or electronic mailing address provided by the certified eligible on the application, or the postal address or electronic mailing address provided by the certified eligible in a subsequent written notice of a change of address.

2. This act shall take effect immediately.
