     Requires notification to certain medical and dental boards outside of New Jersey of actions against medical or dental licenses or practices.

An Act concerning medical and dental licensing and supplementing chapter 6 of Title 45 of the Revised Statutes and P.L.1995, c.69 (C.45:9-19.16).

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    The State Board of Medical Examiners shall notify the medical examining and licensing boards of every state of the United States if the board takes any action against a physician's medical license or affecting a physician's privileges to practice medicine.

 

     2.    The New Jersey State Board of Dentistry shall notify the dental examining and licensing boards of every state of the United States if the board takes any action against a dentist's license or affecting a dentist's privileges to practice dentistry.

 

     3.    This act shall take effect on the 60th day next following enactment.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill requires notification to certain medical and dental licensing boards outside of New Jersey if the State licensing boards take any action against a physician's or dentist's license or practice.

     Specifically, the bill provides that the State Board of Medical Examiners must notify the medical examining and licensing boards of every state of the United States if the board takes any action against a physician's medical license or affecting a physician's privileges to practice medicine.

     The bill also provides that the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry must notify the dental examining and licensing boards of every state of the United States if the board takes any action against a dentist's license or affecting a dentist's privileges to practice dentistry.
