SYNOPSIS

     Requires "No Turn on Red" signs be affixed to certain traffic control signals.

An Act requiring the installation of certain traffic signs and supplementing chapter 4 of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    A State, municipality, or county authority, having jurisdiction over an intersection where traffic is controlled by a traffic control signal and at which right turns are prohibited upon a stop signal, shall post that prohibition on a sign affixed to the traffic control signal.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect on the first day of the seventh month next following enactment and shall only apply to signs newly installed or replaced after the effective date of this act.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill requires any new or replacement "No Turn on Red" sign installed by the State, a county, or a municipality be affixed to the traffic control signal at which right turns on red are prohibited.
