SYNOPSIS
Requires issuance of construction permits for installation of wheelchair ramps on residential real property within 3 business days of application.

An Act concerning construction permits for the installation of wheelchair ramps on residential real property and supplementing chapter 27D of Title 52 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. A 1full-time1 construction official shall issue a construction permit within three business days of receiving an application for the installation of a wheelchair ramp on residential real property1, provided that the application contains a plan that complies with the State Uniform Construction Code1.
b. The applicant for a construction permit for the installation of a wheelchair ramp on residential real property shall be entitled to a refund of the application fee if the construction official fails to issue the permit within the time allowed pursuant to subsection a. of this section1 or pursuant to regulations promulgated under subsection c. of this section.1
1c. The Department of Community Affairs shall promulgate regulations concerning the timing for issuance of permits for wheel chair ramps by part-time construction officials similar to subsection a. of this section. 1
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
