SYNOPSIS
Requires certain public schools to advertise availability of free menstrual hygiene products.

An Act concerning menstrual hygiene products and supplementing chapter 33 of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. A public school that provides menstrual hygiene products to students free of charge shall prominently display information about the availability of such products throughout the school building in locations that include, but are not limited to, the school nurse's office, a bathroom, and a locker room.
b. As used in this section, "menstrual hygiene products" mean tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the menstrual cycle.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires a public school that provides menstrual hygiene products to students free of charge to prominently display information about the availability of such products throughout the school building in locations that include, but are not limited to, the school nurse's office, a bathroom, and a locker room.
This bill defines menstrual hygiene products as tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the menstrual cycle.
