SYNOPSIS
Requires certain State contractors to provide members of public with option to submit certain information electronically.

An Act requiring certain State contractors to provide members of the public with the option to submit certain information electronically and supplementing Title 52 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. The Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of the Treasury, and any State agency having authority to contract for the purchase of goods or services, shall require that, when the value of a contract is not less than $1 million, the contractor for such contract provides members of the public with the option to submit any required information electronically, when such information is required for the member of the public to establish eligibility to receive any goods, services, or benefits provided by the contractor pursuant to the contract.
b. As used in this section:
"Contractor" means a business organization that has entered into a contract with a State agency.
"State agency" means any of the principal departments in the Executive Branch of the State government, and any division, board, bureau, office, commission, or other instrumentality within or created by such department, and any independent State authority, commission, instrumentality, or agency which is authorized by law to award public contracts.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires certain State contractors to provide members of the public with the option to submit certain information electronically.
Under the bill, the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of the Treasury, and any State agency having authority to contract for the purchase of goods or services, will require that, when the value of a contract is not less than $1 million, the contractor for such contract provides members of the public with the option to submit any required information electronically, when such information is required for the member of the public to establish eligibility to receive any goods, services, or benefits provided by the contractor pursuant to the contract.
