STATEMENT

P.L.1997, c.127 established a per se disqualification from jury service of persons convicted of an indictable offense.

This bill would remove this per se disqualification and allow a person to serve on a jury if the person had not been convicted of any indictable offense for a period of 10 years offense after completion of a sentence of imprisonment, probation, or parole.
