A Supplement to the annual appropriations act for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, P.L.   , c.  

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.2021, c.133, the annual appropriations act for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, there is appropriated from the General Fund the following amount for the purpose specified:

40 Community Development and Environmental Management

49 Agriculture Resources, Planning, and Regulation

3330  Division of Agricultural and Natural Resources

 

Direct State Services

03-3330  Deer Fencing Matching Grant Program ................ $500,000

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill makes a supplemental appropriation of $500,000 from the General Fund to increase the State funding for deer fencing in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.    The purpose of the bill would be to provide funding to implement P.L.2021, c.451 (C.4:20-6.1), which established a matching grant program to help farmers protect their crops on unpreserved farmland as well as on certain farms in the Pinelands and Highlands Region.
