     Requires MVC to employ non-driver identification card liaison.

An Act requiring the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to employ a non-driver identification card liaison and supplementing Title 39 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.  The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission shall employ a non-driver identification card liaison.  The non-driver identification card liaison shall coordinate with the Department of Human Services and social services agencies within the State to answer questions from members of the public concerning the issuance of non-driver identification cards and assist vulnerable populations in obtaining non-driver identification cards.

 

     2.  This act shall take effect on the first day of the fourth month after enactment, but the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission may take such administrative action in advance of the effective date as may be necessary.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill requires the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to employ a non-driver identification card liaison.  Under the bill, the liaison is required to coordinate with the Department of Human Services and social services agencies in the State to answer questions from members of the public about the issuance of non-driver identification cards and assist vulnerable populations in obtaining these identification cards.
