1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Farmington High School boys baseball team on winning
1.3the State High School Class 4A boys baseball championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Farmington baseball team participated in the State High School Class 4A
1.7boys baseball tournament on June 18, 2021, at Target Field; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Park Wolfpack of Cottage Grove 12-10 in the final game of
1.9the tournament to win their team its first ever state championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Tigers made 16 hits and the 22 combined runs in the final game of the
1.11championship series were the second most runs ever scored in a Minnesota State High School
1.12League baseball championship game. They finished the season with an outstanding 21-6 record;
1.13and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.15congratulations are extended to the members of the Farmington High School boys baseball team
1.16for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.20Farmington High School.
