1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Rosemount High School Assistant Principal Kimberly Budde for being
1.3selected as Minnesota Assistant Principal of the Year.
1.4WHEREAS, Rosemount High School Assistant Principal Kimberly Budde, who has a
1.5master's degree in education from Saint Mary's University and a specialist degree in educational
1.6leadership from the University of St. Thomas, has been working at Rosemount High School
1.7for the past eight years, spending much of her time making connections with local community
1.8colleges and businesses in an attempt to broaden opportunities for students; and
1.9WHEREAS, in recent years, Kimberly Budde helped to establish the Inver Prep and
1.10In College programs, developed in cooperation with Inver Hills Community College, and she
1.11has also built a partnership with Normandale Community College that allows multi-variable
1.12calculus and linear algebra students to earn college credit after they have completed Advanced
1.13Placement calculus; and
1.14WHEREAS, in addition, she has led efforts to connect with local business leaders in an
1.15effort to understand their skill needs for high school and college graduates, and has facilitated
1.16faculty member tours of local businesses and invited hiring managers to the school to talk to
1.17students about job opportunities with their companies; and
1.18WHEREAS, Kimberly Budde is also a leader for the fine arts programs, student assessments,
1.19and several academic departments; her personality is often cited as her greatest attribute, however,
1.20as she interacts with ease with students, teachers, parents, and community members; and
1.21NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.22it thanks and commends Rosemount High School Assistant Principal Kimberly Budde for her
2.1dedication to upholding the highest standards of excellence in education, and congratulates her on
2.2being selected as Minnesota Assistant Principal of the Year.
2.3BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
2.4enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
2.5Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Kimberly Budde.
