1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating David Gesch for being named Middle School Teacher of the Year by
1.3the Lutheran Education Association.
1.4WHEREAS, David Gesch has been a middle school teacher at Redeemer Christian Academy
1.5in Wayzata, Minnesota, since 1987; and
1.6WHEREAS, in addition to teaching, David also serves as the athletic director for the school
1.7and coaches the basketball team; and
1.8WHEREAS, David has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in meeting the social,
1.9emotional, spiritual, and cognitive needs of youth and their families; and
1.10WHEREAS, David is known for his love of teaching and love for and dedication to serving
1.11Jesus; and
1.12WHEREAS, David is an active member of the Lutheran and local communities and is
1.13involved in coordinating the annual Veteran's Day celebrating to lift up, pray for, and thank those
1.14who serve in uniform, as well as teaching children how to properly raise, lower, and fold the
1.15American flag; and
1.16WHEREAS, David Gesch is an outstanding educator, role model, and active member of his
1.17community; and
1.18NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.19commends David Gesch on being named Lutheran Education Association Middle School Teacher
1.20of the Year.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.22enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.23Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to David Gesch.
