1.2congratulating Chelsea Nooker of St. Cloud State University on her
1.3outstanding athletic and academic career.
1.4WHEREAS, Chelsea Nooker, a senior at St. Cloud State University, has been a great
1.5contributor to her school athletically and academically; and
1.6WHEREAS, Chelsea played in 107 games for the women's basketball team the last four
1.7years, and was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Player of the Week for the
1.8weeks of November 30, 2015, and January 16, 2017; and
1.9WHEREAS, she was a member of the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team in 2015, 2016, and
1.102017; and
1.11WHEREAS, she was a member of the NSIC First Team All-NSIC Team in 2016 and the
1.12Second Team All-NSIC Team in 2017; and
1.13WHEREAS, she was named to the 2016 and 2017 NSIC All-Defensive Teams; and
1.14WHEREAS, she ranked second in 2015-2016 in NCAA Division II Women's Basketball in
1.15triple-doubles; and
1.16WHEREAS, she was the 29th woman to be inducted into the 1,000-point club at St. Cloud
1.17State, and ended up being St. Cloud State's 22nd-highest scorer with 1,235 points; and
1.18WHEREAS, in the all-time rankings at St. Cloud State, she ranks 9th in blocked shots with
1.1968, 14th in blocked shots per game average with .6, 9th in steals with 195, 10th in steals per game
1.20average with 1.8, 14th in assists with 292, 12th in defensive rebounds with 394, 17th in defensive
1.21rebound average with 3.7, 11th in free throw percentage with .825, 18th in three-point field goals
1.22made with 75, 7th in field goal percentage with .385, and 25th in scoring average with 11.5; and
1.23WHEREAS, Chelsea is not only outstanding athletically and academically, she is also an
1.24inspiring leader to all she meets, including her teammates and competitors, both on and off the
1.25court; and
1.26NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.27congratulates Chelsea Nooker of St. Cloud State University on her outstanding athletic and academic
1.28career, and wishes her well in her future plans.
1.29BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.30enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.31Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Chelsea Nooker.
