1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring the Auxiliary at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont on their 60th
1.3anniversary.
1.4WHEREAS, our state is enhanced by the presence of those organizations that have stood
1.5the test of time; and
1.6WHEREAS, reaching 60 years is a significant milestone in the life of an organization and
1.7is an ideal occasion to celebrate an organization's rich history; and
1.8WHEREAS, the Auxiliary at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, formerly known as
1.9the Fairmont Community Hospital Auxiliary, was formed on March 10, 1954, to render service to
1.10the facility and promote the health and welfare of the medical community through fund-raising
1.11and service; and
1.12WHEREAS, the volunteer Auxilians have contributed thousands of hours providing
1.13patients, residents, visitors, and staff with hospitality, unique services, and amenities that would
1.14not otherwise be available; and
1.15WHEREAS, the Auxiliary has given more than $51,000 in scholarships to students
1.16pursuing careers in the health care field; and
1.17WHEREAS, the Auxiliary has donated over $700,000 in cash and equipment to the
1.18hospital through a wide variety of fund-raising activities and projects over the past 60 years; and
1.19WHEREAS, their annual meeting and 60th anniversary celebration date was held on April
1.2024, 2014, in the Main Classroom at MCHS-Fairmont; and
1.21NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.22congratulates the Auxiliary at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont on their 60th anniversary.
2.1BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
2.2an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
2.3the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the staff of the
2.4Auxiliary at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont.
