1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Sean Meng Lee of St. Paul on his graduation from Metropolitan
1.3State University.
1.4WHEREAS, Sean Meng Lee was born April 10, 1983, in refugee camp Na Yao in
1.5Thailand, and on September 25, 1987, the Lee family arrived in St. Paul; and
1.6WHEREAS, Sean graduated from Highland High School in 2001, and on April 29, 2002,
1.7he started working as a stocker for Golden Harvest Foods; and
1.8WHEREAS, on August 11, 2003, he was promoted to Produce Manager, in 2004, he
1.9was moved to Grocery Manager, and in 2008, he became Assistant Store Manager under the
1.10supervision of the General Manager; and
1.11WHEREAS, in 2006, while working full time, he enrolled at Metropolitan State University
1.12on the East Side of St. Paul, and in 2011, he bought a house on the East Side of St. Paul, and
1.13currently his parents and siblings are living with him; and
1.14WHEREAS, he has participated on several occasions with food packing at Feed My
1.15Starving Children and as a paddling member for the Clean Water Golden Dragon team at the
1.16Dragon Boat festival in St. Paul; and
1.17WHEREAS, he has been an active volunteer for State Senator Foung Hawj before and
1.18after he was elected, and has also volunteered and helped clean up the East Side of St. Paul for
1.19yearly spring cleaning; and
1.20WHEREAS, in 2012, he became a United States citizen; and
1.21WHEREAS, on December 16, 2014, Sean will participate in his commencement ceremony
1.22and graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in
1.23Finance, a tremendous accomplishment; and
1.24NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.25congratulates Sean Meng Lee of St. Paul on his graduation from Metropolitan State University,
1.26and wishes him well in his future plans.
1.27BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.28enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.29Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Sean Meng Lee.
