1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Charles Neng Herr.
1.3WHEREAS, Charles Neng Herr immigrated to the United States on October 1, 1979, as a
1.4refugee after the Vietnam War; and
1.5WHEREAS, Charles settled in California and pursued his educational career, graduating
1.6with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from California State University, Fresno, in 1988, a Master
1.7of Science in Instructional Leadership at National University in California in 1990, and is a Doctoral
1.8Candidate in Educational Leadership at Northcentral University in Arizona; and
1.9WHEREAS, Charles' education led him into a career in public service, teaching mathematics
1.10at Fresno City College and Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee for 30 years; and
1.11WHEREAS, since Charles' move to Milwaukee in 1991, he has been a prominent leader
1.12and top adviser for the Hawj community and has been CEO of Asian-American Wholesale, Inc.;
1.13and
1.14WHEREAS, Charles is internationally recognized as a successful businessman with global
1.15impact; and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.17celebrates and honors Charles Neng Herr for his work, influence, and service in the community,
1.18extending far beyond Wisconsin.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Charles Neng Herr.
