1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the East Ridge High School boys baseball team on winning
1.3the 2019 State High School Class 4A boys baseball championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the East Ridge baseball team was one of eight teams that participated in the
1.72019 State High School Class 4A boys baseball tournament on June 13-20, 2019; and
1.8WHEREAS, after upsetting Stillwater 6-5 in the semifinal game at CHS Field, they defeated
1.9the New Prague Trojans 7-2 in the final game of the tournament at Target Field to win their first
1.10state championship; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Raptors finished the season with an outstanding 21-6 record; and
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.13congratulations are extended to the members of the East Ridge High School boys baseball team
1.14for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.16enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.17Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of East
1.18Ridge High School.
