1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Kasson-Mantorville High School senior Carley Miller on winning the
1.3High School National Powerlifting Meet championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, Carley Miller participated in the National Powerlifting Meet in Milwaukee in
1.7the 165-pound female class setting a personal and national record for her age and weight group; and
1.8WHEREAS, Carley also competed with the United States national team in Hungary last
1.9year where she helped the United States win a gold medal; and
1.10NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.11congratulations are extended to Carley Miller and wishes her success in the future.
1.12BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.13enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.14Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Carley Miller.
