1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Dorothy Westrom on her 102nd birthday.
1.3WHEREAS, our communities are blessed by the presence of those who have lived long lives
1.4and who are part of our living history; and
1.5WHEREAS, Dorothy Westrom was born on April 23, 1920, and celebrated her 100th birthday
1.6during the COVID-19 lockdown. She is now fortunate to celebrate her 102nd birthday with family
1.7and friends on April 23, 2022; and
1.8WHEREAS, Dorothy married Norman Westrom in 1940 and they had three children, Myron,
1.9Dennis, and Lyle. Dorothy has 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and multiple
1.10great-great-grandchildren; and
1.11WHEREAS, Dorothy and Norman lived south of Elbow Lake on a farm in rural Sanford
1.12Township, where Dorothy still resides. She worked as a homemaker and on the farm; and
1.13WHEREAS, Dorothy was a longstanding member of the German Lutheran Church and now
1.14attends the United Lutheran Church, both in Elbow Lake; and
1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.16congratulates Dorothy Westrom on her 102nd birthday.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Dorothy Westrom.
