1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Totino-Grace High School boys football team on winning
1.3the 2012 State High School Class AAAAA boys football championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Totino-Grace football team was one of eight teams that participated in the
1.72012 State High School Class AAAAA boys football tournament on November 9-24, 2012; and
1.8WHEREAS, after beating Apple Valley 42-14 in the quarterfinals and Bemidji 23-0 in the
1.9semifinals, the Eagles defeated the Owatonna Huskies 49-21 in the final game of the tournament
1.10on November 24, 2012, to win the state championship at the Metrodome; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Eagles finished the season undefeated with an outstanding 13-0 record; and
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.13congratulations are extended to the members of the Totino-Grace High School boys football
1.14team for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.16an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.17the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.18Totino-Grace High School.
