1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 97C.376, subdivision 1, is amended to read:
1.6 Subdivision 1. Season. (a) The regular bow fishing season for residents and
1.7nonresidents is fromMay 1 the last Saturday in April to the last Sunday in February at
1.8any time of the day.
1.9(b) The early bow fishing season for residents and nonresidents is open only south
1.10of State Highway 210 from the Monday after the last Sunday in February to the Friday
1.11before the last Saturday in April at any time of the day. During the early season, a person
1.12may bow fish:
1.13(1) only from a boat; and
1.14(2) only while on a lake or on the Mississippi, Minnesota, or St. Croix Rivers.
1.15 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 97C.376, subdivision 2, is amended to read:
1.16 Subd. 2. Possession of bows and arrows. A person may possess bows and arrows for
1.17the purposes of bow fishing on or within 100 feet of waters at any time fromMay 1 the last
1.18Saturday in April to the last Sunday in February and at other times on lakes and the rivers
1.19south of State Highway 210 as specified in subdivision 1, paragraph (b), subject to local
1.20ordinances. A person must take reasonable measures to retrieve arrows and wounded fish.
