1.3preservation; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. AIRPORT RUNWAY PRESERVATION.
1.6 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. (a) $6,000,000 is appropriated from the bond
1.7proceeds fund to the commissioner of transportation for capital assistance grants under
1.8Minnesota Statutes, section 360.305, to rehabilitate and modernize deteriorated runway
1.9pavement at publicly owned airports.
1.10 (b) For any airport project where only state and local money is to be used, money
1.11from this appropriation may be used to pay the local contribution required by Minnesota
1.12Statutes, section 360.305, subdivision 4, in addition to the other project costs. Priority
1.13must be given to airports with a runway pavement condition index of 56 or less.
1.14 (c) For any airport project where federal, state, and local money is to be used, money
1.15from this appropriation shall be used only to pay the local contribution required by
1.16Minnesota Statutes, section 360.305, subdivision 4.
1.17 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
1.18bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.19bonds of the state in an amount up to $6,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.20the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.21Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.22EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
