1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; TEXT MESSAGE SUICIDE PREVENTION
1.6PROGRAM.
1.7$....... is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 2015, from the general fund
1.8to the commissioner of health for a grant to a nonprofit organization to establish and
1.9implement a statewide text message suicide prevention program. The program shall
1.10implement a suicide prevention counseling text line designed to use text messaging to
1.11connect with crisis counselors and to obtain emergency information and referrals to local
1.12resources in the local community. The program shall include training within schools and
1.13communities to encourage the use of the program.
