1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 123A.55, is amended to read:
1.7123A.55 CLASSES, NUMBER.
1.8Districts shall be classified as common, independent,or special, or charter districts,.
1.9Eachof which common, independent, and special district is a public corporation. Each
1.10district shall be known by its classification and assigned a number by the commissioner so
1.11that its title will be .......... School District No. ......
1.12EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2011.
1.13 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 127A.33, is amended to read:
1.14127A.33 SCHOOL ENDOWMENT FUND; APPORTIONMENT.
1.15The commissioner shall apportion the school endowment fund semiannually on the
1.16first Monday in March and September in each year, to districts whose schools have been
1.17in session at least nine months. The apportionment shall be in proportion tothe number
1.18of pupils in each district's adjusted average daily membership during the preceding year.
1.19The apportionment shall not be paid to a district for pupils for whom tuition is received
1.20by the district.
1.21EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective for revenue for fiscal years 2012
1.22and later.
