1.2relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money for a community
1.3theater grant program.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; COMMUNITY THEATER GRANTS.
1.6$....... in fiscal year 2014 and $....... in fiscal year 2015 are appropriated from the arts
1.7and cultural heritage fund to the Board of the Arts for a grant program to provide funding
1.8to create, maintain, and promote opportunities for students and adults to participate in
1.9community theater. The Board of the Arts shall administer the grant program in the form
1.10and manner specified by the board. The board must give preference to theater programs
1.11giving after-school opportunities to students in schools in which student achievement
1.12levels do not meet state and local expectations under Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.35,
1.13subdivision 2, paragraph (a).
