1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money for higher education asset
1.3preservation and replacement and North Hennepin Community College;
1.4authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. HIGHER EDUCATION ASSET PRESERVATION AND
1.7REPLACEMENT; NORTH HENNEPIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
1.8    Subdivision 1. Appropriation. (a) $58,000,000 is appropriated from the bond
1.9proceeds fund to the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities
1.10for the purposes specified in Minnesota Statutes, section 135A.046, including safety
1.11and statutory compliance, building envelope integrity, mechanical systems, and space
1.12restoration.
1.13(b) $26,581,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the Board of
1.14Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to complete design, construct,
1.15furnish, and equip a new building for Bioscience and Health Careers Center laboratory
1.16and classroom space on the North Hennepin Community College campus.
1.17    Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
1.18bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.19bonds of the state in an amount up to $84,581,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.20the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.21Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.22EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
