1.3appropriating money for compensating honor guards.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; GOLD STAR PROGRAM.
1.6$100,000 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal years 2014 and 2015 to the
1.7commissioner of veterans affairs to administer and implement the Gold Star Program for
1.8surviving family members of deceased veterans.
1.9 Sec. 2. APPROPRIATION; HONOR GUARDS.
1.10$200,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $200,000 in fiscal year 2015 are appropriated
1.11from the general fund to the commissioner of veterans affairs for compensation for
1.12honor guards at the funerals of veterans under Minnesota Statutes, section 197.231. This
1.13appropriation is added to the agency's base budget.
