1.2relating to emergency medical services; making changes to the special taxing
1.3districts;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 144F.01, subdivision 4.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 144F.01, subdivision 4, is amended to read:
1.6 Subd. 4. Property tax levy authority. The district's board may levy a tax on
1.7the taxable real and personal property in the district. For each participating political
1.8subdivision, the ad valorem tax levy may not exceed 0.048 percent of the taxable market
1.9value of the district or $400,000, whichever is less. The proceeds of the levy must be used
1.10as provided in subdivision 5. The board shall certify the levy at the times as provided
1.11under section275.07 . The board shall provide the county with whatever information is
1.12necessary to identify the property that is located within the district. If the boundaries
1.13include a part of a parcel, the entire parcel shall be included in the district. The county
1.14auditors must spread, collect, and distribute the proceeds of the tax at the same time and in
1.15the same manner as provided by law for all other property taxes.
