1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 149A.50, subdivision 1, is amended to
1.6read:
1.7 Subdivision 1. License required. (a) Except as provided in section149A.01,
1.8subdivision 3 , no person shall maintain, manage, or operate a place or premise devoted to
1.9or used in the holding, care, or preparation of a dead human body for final disposition,
1.10or any place used as the office or place of business for the provision of funeral services,
1.11without possessing a valid license to operate a funeral establishment issued by the
1.12commissioner of health.
1.13(b) Notwithstanding paragraph (a), or any other provision in this chapter, no license
1.14is required for the direct sale at need or by bailment to consumers of caskets, urns, or
1.15other funeral goods.
