1.2relating to education; decertifying teacher's union after bargaining cycle;
1.3amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 179A.12, by adding a subdivision.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 179A.12, is amended by adding a
1.6subdivision to read:
1.7 Subd. 13. Certification discontinued. Within 90 days of a contract settlement that is
1.8approved by a unit that consists of teachers in a school district or another public education
1.9setting, the commissioner shall decertify the exclusive representative of the unit. An
1.10exclusive representative decertified under this subdivision may be considered as a choice
1.11on the ballot in a subsequent certification election conducted according to this section.
