1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a grant to District One
1.3Hospital to stabilize Johnston Hall.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. DISTRICT ONE HOSPITAL, FARIBAULT; JOHNSTON HALL.
1.6$1,500,000 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2014 to the
1.7commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to District One
1.8Hospital in Faribault to stabilize Johnston Hall in order to preserve the safety and integrity
1.9of the historic building so it can be renovated for reuse in the most cost-efficient manner.
1.10The stabilization must be based on a current condition assessment and includes, but is
1.11not limited to, roof repair or replacement and related building envelope repair to protect
1.12the building from moisture penetration, mold and mildew remediation and prevention,
1.13and structural stabilization. This appropriation does not cancel except as provided in
1.14Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
1.15EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
