1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to highways; authorizing sale and issuance of trunk highway bonds;
1.3appropriating money for infrastructure improvements attendant to construction
1.4on marked Trunk Highway 44 in Caledonia.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. HIGHWAY APPROPRIATION AND BOND SALE.
1.7    Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $750,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.8account in the trunk highway fund to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to
1.9the city of Caledonia for lighting, walking paths, overhead safety lighting at pedestrian
1.10crossings, and other improvements attendant to construction work being performed on
1.11marked Trunk Highway 44 in the city of Caledonia.
1.12    Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in subdivision 1 from the
1.13bond proceeds account in the trunk highway fund, the commissioner of management and
1.14budget shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount up to $750,000 in the manner,
1.15upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 167.50 to
1.16167.52, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XIV, section 11, at the times and in the
1.17amounts requested by the commissioner of transportation. The proceeds of the bonds,
1.18except accrued interest and any premium received from the sale of the bonds, must be
1.19deposited in the bond proceeds account in the trunk highway fund.
1.20EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
