1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to natural resources; requiring certain accessibility to publicly funded
1.3shooting ranges;proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
1.487A.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. [87A.09] PUBLIC SHOOTING RANGES; ACCESSIBILITY.
1.7A publicly owned or managed shooting range that is funded in whole or part with
1.8public funds must be available for use by participants in a firearms safety instruction
1.9course under section 97B.015. The shooting range must be available during hours
1.10reasonable for youth participants. The range operator may charge a fee to cover any costs
1.11directly incurred from use required under this section, but may not charge a fee to offset
1.12costs for general maintenance and operation of the facility.
