1.2relating to education; amending provisions relating to teacher candidates passing
1.3a basic skills examination.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. ONE-YEAR LICENSES.
1.6Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 122A.18, subdivision 2, as
1.7amended by Laws 2012, chapter 122, section 2, a person who has:
1.8(1) obtained a one-year license to teach;
1.9(2) taught in a language immersion program during the 2011-2012 school year; and
1.10(3) been granted a visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services;
1.11may be approved by the Board of Teaching to continue to teach through the end of the
1.122013-2014 school year.
1.13EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective retroactively from February 22, 2012.
