1.2relating to education; modifying certain assessment reporting requirements;
1.3amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 120B.31, by adding a subdivision.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 120B.31, is amended by adding a
1.6subdivision to read:
1.7 Subd. 5. Parent information. To ensure the effective involvement of parents
1.8and to support a partnership between the school and parents, each district shall provide
1.9parents a timely written summary of their student's current and longitudinal performance
1.10and progress on the state's academic content standards as measured by state assessments.
1.11Providing parents with a summary prepared by the Department of Education fulfills the
1.12requirements of this subdivision.
