1.2relating to waters; prohibiting county commissioners from serving as drainage
1.3inspectors;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 103E.065.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 103E.065, is amended to read:
1.6103E.065 DRAINAGE INSPECTORS.
1.7In counties or watershed districts having drainage systems constructed in accordance
1.8with this chapter, the drainage authority shall appoint a competent person as drainage
1.9inspector. The inspector must not be a county commissioner. The inspector may be the
1.10county highway engineer. The inspector shall examine the drainage systems designated
1.11by the drainage authority. The drainage authority shall specify the appointment period
1.12and compensation.
